On Friday 11th September, 7pm with an album launch party at the fab Static Gallery on Roscoe Lane, City Centre (see map). We’re joining The Cubical (
http://www.myspace.com/thecubicalthecubical), a Liverpool band on the verge of major success. As well as a chance to see the talented Cubical boys perform alongside other top local bands including the ‘Liverpool bands’ favourite band’ Tramp Attack, The Swingin’ Bricks, The Murmers of Tension and Hey Tourists, the gallery is exhibiting the paintings of John O’Neill, who also illustrated the cover of The Cubical’s latest album, Come Sing These Crippled Tunes.
As you can imagine it’s been a busy year for The Cubical. They’re currently on a tour of the UK, last month they had their latest single performed in an episode of the BBC drama The Street and they’re heading off to the States in October for the US launch of their album.
If this band aren't on the cover of the NME in a years time, then there's no justice.
(Gary Smith Bristol Uncovered on BBC Radio Bristol)
"Much of the charm of, and pleasure to be gleaned from, the Cubical is that hearing their music is like stumbling across some dusty long-lost recordings of forgotten voodoo rockers, while seeing them live is apparently like being sent back to the 60s to witness the Doors at Whisky A Go-Go or the Stones at the Flamingo...Superbly "realistic", authentically 60s-sounding blues-wailing and jungle boogie with lashings of harmonica and psychedelic guitar." (The Guardian)
