We know it’s another paid event but it’s one we really couldn’t miss... and if you caught last year’s Tartuffe at the Playhouse we feel sure that you’ll agree!
But if you missed it then we’ll let you into a not very secret secret... it was brilliant. Sorry to rub it in but it truly was a brilliant and hysterical retelling of Molière’s 17th century comedy. And you know, if you didn’t catch it then we feel a teeny tiny bit responsible as it wasn’t an event that we chose for culturepool but hey, we were pretty spoilt for choice last year!
Either way, luckily for us Roger McGough has adapted another of Molière’s plays, The Hypochondriac, for the Playhouse and as always we’ve arranged something a bit extra for culturepool members. You don’t need to know the original script to enjoy what promises to be a an equally acclaimed play, honest.
culturepool members can buy top price tickets to see The Hypochondriac on the 3rd July for just £15 (normally £20) AND the option of attending, for FREE , the page to stage event on the Thursday morning of 2nd July 10.30am-12.15pm, both at the Playhouse. This is a limited offer that is subject to availability, contact the box office on 0151 709 4776 and quote "Culturepool".
‘In Hypochondriac Argan is a perfectly healthy, wealthy gentleman, convinced that he is seriously ill. So obsessed is he with medicinal tinkerings and tonics that he is blind to the goings on in his own household. However, his most efficacious cure will not appear in a bottle or a bedpan, but in his sharp-tongued servant, who has a cunning plan to reveal the truth and open her master’s eyes."
